IMAGINE...
You share your truth, and somewhere—maybe far away—someone you will never meet feels less alone because of it.
The ripple effect of that kind of service keeps moving, long after the book leaves your hands.
You’re introduced as a published author on a podcast—or you hear your own voice in an audiobook—impacting and inspiring hundreds, maybe thousands, while still honoring your introverted nature.
You’re holding your finished book.
You see it on someone else’s coffee table.
And you feel that quiet, unmistakable pride: I did this.
You’re a published author with a book that sings your song—and leaves a legacy only you could have made.
My name is Sabrina Ward Harrison. I’m the author of five books that have quietly traveled the world—finding their way into people’s hands, hearts, and creative lives across many ages and stages.
Over the past two decades, my work has been used in classrooms and studios worldwide, from elementary schools to graduate design programs.
I’m here to guide you through the process of bringing your book into the world—with clarity, care, and respect for the story you’re holding.

A Six-Phase Creative Process
Move at your own pace.
Here’s how we’ll get there.
Phase 1:Â
Tap Into Artist's Mindset
This phase is about opening the field.
You’ll begin by gathering what already holds meaning in your life—journals, artwork, fragments of language, images, textures, fabrics, and found pieces that carry memory or charge. Much of what you collect may never appear in the final book, and that’s the point. These materials serve as sparks, helping you reconnect with curiosity, intuition, and creative momentum.
Think of it as a scavenger hunt through your own lived experience—an exploration that loosens the mind, wakes up the senses, and establishes the emotional heartbeat of the book before a single page is planned.
Â
Phase 2:Â
Refine Your Vision & Get Inside Your Book
In this phase, the book begins to take shape from the inside out.
I’ll guide you in clarifying the themes, questions, and emotional terrain your book is working with—drawing from my own experience creating Spilling Open as an example of how a book finds its voice and form over time.
This is about alignment: understanding what kind of book you’re making, what it’s asking of you, and how your creative vision wants to live on the page—before structure or decisions lock anything in place.
Phase 3:Â
Organize Your Book Content & Contain Your Creativity
This is where creativity gets some room to breathe.
In this phase, we focus on containing and organizing your material so your ideas don’t overwhelm your mind—or your space. You’ll learn practical, humane ways to gather, sort, and hold your content, creating clarity without shutting down creativity.
Organization here isn’t about control; it’s about support. When your materials are held well, focus becomes possible, and the work can move forward with far less friction.

Phase 4:Â
Design; Photography & Surface Supplies
Before a book moves, it has to exist.
In this section, we focus on the physical and visual language of your book—image, text, scale, surface, and composition. You’ll explore how photographs hold memory, how words can sit quietly or boldly within an image, and how materials and marks contribute to meaning.
This is about developing a visual voice—one that feels coherent, personal, and grounded—so that when it’s time to shape the book’s flow, the pages already know who they are.
Phase 5:Â
Create; Spread Design, Layouts & Sequencing
Once the visual language is established, we turn to movement.
In this phase, we focus on how pages speak to each other—through layout, pacing, and sequence. You’ll learn how to guide a reader through the book, build rhythm, and create an emotional through-line from the first page to the last.
Structure without rigidity. Momentum without force
Phase 6:Â
Publish Your Book: Plan The Backbone of Your BookÂ
This final phase brings everything together.
You’ll learn the essential elements of a book’s front matter and closing pages, then step into the publishing landscape with clarity—demystifying a world that often feels more intimidating than it needs to be.
We’ll explore multiple pathways, from self-publishing and small press options to preparing your work for agents or larger publishers, so you understand what each route asks of you and what it offers in return.
LIBERATE doesn’t push you toward a single outcome—it prepares you to choose the path that fits your book, your values, and your life.
And then—
you hold your finished book in your hands.
